Printing with S-89 Chinese: error

Hi @Ringer! I am running 2024.01.01 but the assignment slips still complain of a box error when printing. This is for the CHS - Chinese simplified S-89. Any tips or suggestions? Thank you!

Hi.

First: it’s improper to intrude on someone else’s post, especially if it’s for a problem other than the statement in the previously written post!

2d: Thanks to fill the requirements informations needed!

3: Did you follow the recommendations provided first in the post?

  • are old files deleted?

Since I was having trouble I tried on two machines:

Requirements

⇒ Fill these information below:

  • Desktop OS (name and version): Mac OS Monterey
  • App OS (name and version): (if relevent)
  • TheocBase version: 2024.01.1
  • Language used: English

Requirements

⇒ Fill these information below:

  • Desktop OS (name and version): Windows 10 Pro
  • App OS (name and version): (if relevent)
  • TheocBase version: 2024.01.1
  • Language used: English

I did also follow the instruction in the post you mentioned, deleted the old files and made sure Theocbase was closed. I was able to get the English S-89 working on both computers. It seems to be both the Chinese Simplified and Tradition where I get the error. It seems to be the S-89_CH and S-89_CHS PDF from JW.org. Just as a test, I was able to get the Arabic one S-89_A working.

Thank you.

OK, Thanks for those information.

Can you post a screenshot about these errors?

I created one issue

Thanks @tb-hucste!

I attached 2 photos; a screenshot with the error when trying with S-89_CHS and a screenshot with the working English S-89.

Thanks; I modified the issue with your S-89 CHS screenshot

Hi.

It seems this due that does not contains a dotted line for the part no, on chinese version.

Oh thats interesting! Good find. Should I try to edit the PDF and add a line?

Yes, if you can do this properly!

It worked! I copied the dotted line down to the Part No. and everything is printing now. Thank you for your help with identifying the issue. For the Part No., is it expected that it displays the Part No. twice like the screenshot below: 7 - 7. XXXXX

One last question for you @tb-hucste, For the Part No on the assignment slip, is it expected that it displays the Part No. twice like 7 - 7. Thank you!

Normally, no.
Check your records on Settings > Life and Ministry Meeting, and delete part number!

Did some testing. Deleting the part number under Settings > Life and Ministry Meeting did remove the extra part number but now when I print the S140, it doesn’t show up there. Hmm, maybe this is another issue?

Show us where are you delete exactly? and the issue, please

I am deleting here:

After I delete this is the result on home screen where I edit the parts:

After I delete this is the result on the S-140 PDF print out
03
After I delete this is the result on the S-89 PDF (which was the original issue where the part number showed 2 times:
04

Thank for your collaboration.

It seems this is an expected behaviour. Dev search to understand the reasons, and how to resolve.

thank you so much for looking into this as well @tb-hucste! appreciate it.
